Metropolitan Mark announced eight-day pastoral visit to Italy
The temporary head of the Western European Exarchate will visit parishes, celebrate divine services, and conduct official meetings starting from mid-February.
His Eminence, Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailov, temporary head of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Western Europe and the communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy, will undertake an archpastoral visit to Italy from February 14 to 22, 2026. The trip serves the pastoral care of the faithful as well as the strengthening of church life on site. This was reported by the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy on Telegram. During his stay, the Metropolitan will visit several parish communities and conduct services as well as meetings with clergy and faithful there. The focus is on pastoral questions, support for communities in the diaspora, as well as the promotion of church unity.
Furthermore, a series of official conversations and meetings are planned as part of the trip. These are intended to serve the coordination of church work, the further development of community structures, as well as the exchange on current tasks of Orthodoxy in Italy.
