Study showed increasing psychological stress among adolescents
Uncertainty, crises and digital dependency are supposed to shape the young generation.
A recent study on the situation of young people in Germany demonstrates a noticeable increase in psychological problems. Thus, 29 percent of respondents aged 14 to 29 stated that they feel they need psychotherapeutic care. This represents a new peak compared to the previous year. This was reported by evangelisch.de. The study identifies ongoing crises, economic uncertainty, and social upheavals as the main causes of these burdens. Young people are particularly concerned about armed conflicts, inflation, and rising living costs. Parallel to this, a pronounced digital dependency is evident: About 60 percent of respondents use smartphones to an addiction-like extent, while one-third turn to artificial intelligence when facing personal difficulties.
According to the findings, about one in five young people is considering turning their back on Germany to seek better prospects abroad. The study's results impressively demonstrate how much pressure the young generation is under and make clear that social and political support is urgently needed.
