Archbishop of Athens called for more love and less fear
In Athens, a festive service was celebrated for the Greek national holiday.
On March 25, a solemn doxology service was held at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens on the occasion of the Greek national holiday of 1821. The service was presided over by Archbishop Hieronymos of Athens and All Greece in the presence of high-ranking state representatives, including President Konstantinos Tasoulas and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. This was reported by Orthodox Times. The service was also attended by representatives of various Orthodox Churches, other confessions, and state institutions. The celebration combined national commemoration with a spiritual appeal and emphasized the importance of faith and unity in public life.
In his address, the Archbishop called for increased prayers for peace, especially in today's times. He emphasized that society must orient itself more toward love, peace, and progress, and less toward fear and violence. Only in this way can lasting peaceful coexistence be promoted.
