Patriarch Theophilos III met with pilgrims from around the world and Metropolitan Benedict for discussions about the Nativity Basilica in Bethlehem.
On February 13, 2026, Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem held a series of meetings with church representatives and pilgrim groups at the Patriarchal residence. First, he received Metropolitan Benedict of Diocaesarea, the patriarchal representative in Bethlehem. The conversation focused on issues related to the administration and current concerns of the Nativity Basilica of Christ. This was reported by Orthodox Times. After the official part, the Patriarch received a larger pilgrim group that had traveled from Russia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Montenegro. He also met with a smaller delegation of clergy and faithful, accompanied by Archbishop Ignatius from Aktobe.
At the end of the conversations, His Beatitude welcomed Priest Alexander, with whom he discussed pastoral and organizational matters of his parish in Beersheba. The gatherings highlighted the worldwide unity of Orthodoxy and the ongoing spiritual guidance of communities in the Holy Land.
