Metropolitan Mark celebrated Soul Saturday in the Church of Saint Nicholas
On Meat-fare Saturday, the head of the Western European Exarchate celebrated the Divine Liturgy and commemorated the deceased with the faithful.
On February 14, 2026, on the Saturday of Souls (Meat-fare Saturday), Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailov, temporary head of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Western Europe and parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the historic Church of Saint Nicholas in Rome. This was reported by the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy on Telegram. The hierarch was assisted in the celebration by the parish rector, Priest Sergiy Voronin. Together with the faithful, they prayed in a special way for the deceased and held their memory within the liturgical framework.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a solemn memorial litija took place, centered on prayer for the deceased. The faithful commemorated their relatives and all the departed, asking for peace and rest for them in the Lord. The liturgical celebration thus connected the community of the living with those who have already passed into eternity.
Previously, UOJ reported that Patriarch Theophilos commemorated the deceased on Soul Saturday.
