Metropolitan Mark celebrated memorial service in Paris Trinity Cathedral
On the feast day of the Russian New Martyrs, the Metropolitan celebrated a bilingual liturgy and called for remembrance of the victims of religious persecution.
On February 8, 2026, the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and the commemoration day of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, Mark celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Paris. The Metropolitan simultaneously heads the Patriarchal Exarchate for Western Europe as well as the Diocese of Korsun. This was reported by the Moscow Patriarchate on the official Italian Telegram channel.
The service was conducted in Church Slavonic and French and gathered numerous faithful. During the liturgy, special prayers were offered for all who suffered for their faith during times of persecution.
Following the celebration, Metropolitan Mark addressed the congregation with a pastoral word, in which he emphasized the importance of commemorating the New Martyrs and bearing witness to the faith even under difficult historical conditions.
