In Kassel, an additional service was held on Easter
A large number of parishioners in Kassel resulted in an additional church service.
On April 12, in the Serbian Orthodox community in Kassel, in addition to the nocturnal Easter service, another service was celebrated in the morning. According to Priest Marko, the head of the community, this was due to the large number of believers, as particularly on major feast days not all participants can fit in the church. This was reported by UOJ on Telegram. After the festive liturgy and the reception of communion, according to tradition, colored eggs and Easter bread brought by the faithful were blessed. This blessing is part of the established customs of the Easter feast and symbolizes the joy of Christ's Resurrection.
The community in Kassel is internationally characterized and unites believers of different origins, including Serbs, Macedonians, Montenegrins as well as Christians from other Balkan countries, also Ukrainians, Russians and Orthodox Germans. The common celebration emphasized the diversity and unity of the Orthodox community.
