UOJ is broadcasting the ceremony of the Descent of the Holy Fire in Jerusalem live. The broadcast from the Church of the Resurrection of Christ (Church of the Holy Sepulchre) can be followed on the editorial team's Facebook page. On April 11, 2026, Great Saturday, the solemn service for the Descent of the Holy Fire will take place in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The service will be led by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III.
This year, the ceremony is taking place under enhanced security measures. Only a limited number of believers were admitted to the service. According to a correspondent, the Old City has been secured by police and military since the early morning hours, with access only possible with special wristbands. A total of about 300 permits were issued for participation in the ceremony. As reported, the Patriarch of Jerusalem emphasized that the Holy Fire represents hope for peace.
