Bochum: Article for children about Easter published

The community of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) in Bochum has published a contribution for children about the Easter feast. The goal of the publication is to convey the meaning of Pascha as well as its central contents in a simple and understandable form. The contribution appeared on Instagram. The text presents the story of Jesus Christ – his life, his teaching as well as his suffering, his crucifixion and finally his resurrection. It emphasizes that Easter is the most important feast of Christians, as it symbolizes the victory of life over death and of good over evil.

Furthermore, central Easter customs are explained. These include the Easter greeting "Christ is risen," the coloring of eggs as a symbol of life, the baking of Easter bread as well as the preparation of the traditional cottage cheese dish. Customs such as egg tapping are also explained as an expression of joy over the resurrection. The contribution is directed particularly at families and children and is intended to help bring the religious contents and cultural traditions of the Easter feast closer.
