In Mödling, Holy Week and Easter were celebrated

Serbian community in Mödling experienced services from Palm Sunday to the Resurrection celebration.

In the Serbian Orthodox parish of St. Nicholas of Myra in Mödling, the services for Holy Week and Easter were solemnly celebrated.

On Palm Sunday, we commemorated the entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. We celebrated the Divine Liturgy with palm blessing and subsequent palm procession around the church in festive joy.

On Great Thursday, we celebrated Vespers with the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in remembrance of the institution of the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist.

On the evening of Great Thursday, we celebrated the Matins of Great Friday with the reading of the twelve Passion Gospels.

On the evening of Great Friday, we celebrated Vespers with the carrying out of the burial shroud, followed by the Lamentations of the Mother of God and the Matins of Great Saturday with the procession with the burial shroud around our church.

On the morning of Great Saturday, we celebrated Vespers with the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great.

We celebrated the solemn Easter night with Resurrection procession, Orthros and Midnight Liturgy in the night from April 11 to 12, 2026. Afterwards, the eggs were blessed and the Easter message from Patriarch Porfirije was read.

On the morning of Easter Sunday, we celebrated the Vespers of Love, during which the Gospel was read in seven different languages. Afterwards, the eggs were blessed and the Easter message from Patriarch Porfirije was read.
