Metropolitan Mark celebrated forgiveness rite at the beginning of Lent in Milan
Divine service and spiritual exhortation prepare believers in Milan for Great Lent.
On Forgiveness Sunday, February 22, Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailov celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Milanese Church of Saint Ambrose. The service was concelebrated by the parish rector, Archimandrit Ambrose, the secretary of the parish administration in Italy, as well as other priests and deacons. This was reported by the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy. After the service, Vespers followed with the ancient rite of mutual forgiveness. This celebration marks the spiritual beginning of Great Lent and invites the faithful to reconcile and renew themselves spiritually.
At the end of the celebration, the Metropolitan addressed the faithful with a spiritual message and gave them his blessing. The event highlighted how central repentance, forgiveness, and inner preparation for Easter are anchored in the Orthodox faith.
Previously, UOJ reported that Metropolitan Mark visited a parish in Bologna.
