Youth Group Organized Cross Veneration Sunday in Cologne
Cologne youth remembered the spiritual significance of the cross through communal singing.
On the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, March 15, members of the youth group actively participated in the divine service and sang together with the deacons during the veneration of the Cross the troparion "Before Your Cross we bow down, Master." Through their participation, they contributed to the solemn and prayerful atmosphere of the liturgy. This was reported by ROJ-Köln on Instagram. The Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross marks the middle of Great Lent and holds a special place in church life. It reminds the faithful of the power and comfort of Christ's Cross, strengthens them in spiritual struggle, and encourages them to continue the path of fasting with perseverance.
The joint participation in singing and in the veneration of the Cross also made this meaning experiential. It clarified that the Cross is not only a symbol of suffering, but at the same time a source of hope and the path to Christ's Resurrection.
