Klosterneuburg: Employee locks suspected thieves in church

Three men have been arrested at the Collegiate Church of Klosterneuburg in Austria after attempting to break open donation boxes. The incident occurred in mid-April and was noticed through video surveillance. An employee recognized suspicious movements and immediately notified the police. This was reported by nön. Subsequently, the porter managed to close the church doors and lock the suspects inside the building. Police arrived shortly thereafter and arrested the three men aged 22, 23, and 27. The arrest took place on site without further incidents.

During the course of the investigation, one of the accused was also linked to participation in additional thefts in the church. The men were transferred to a correctional facility while investigations into the case continue.
