In Saxony, alleged ISIS members were arrested
In Saxony, three suspected members of the Islamic State terrorist organization have been arrested. According to the Dresden General Prosecutor's Office and the State Criminal Police Office, these are three men from Iraq aged 26, 40, and 43 years. One of the accused has been in custody since March 24. The news was published by evangelisch. The 26-year-old man is accused of having worked as a fighter for ISIS between January 2016 and May 2017 and receiving payment for it. During a search of his apartment in Plauen, mobile phones, tablets, and other storage media were seized, among other things.
The two other accused are also alleged to have been active in various units of the terrorist organization in 2016. One of them is additionally suspected of having worked for ISIS since 2014. During searches in Chemnitz and Leipzig, electronic devices were also seized. The investigations are ongoing, particularly the evaluation of the confiscated data carriers. The men are accused of membership in a terrorist organization.
