Good Friday in Mannheim: Procession of the Shroud of Christ

In the Serbian Orthodox community in Mannheim, a solemn service was held on Good Friday with the procession of Christ's burial shroud. The liturgical action commemorates the taking down of Jesus' body from the cross and his burial. The community reported this on Instagram. During the service, the burial shroud was carried from the altar area and placed in the center of the church for veneration. The faithful approached to contemplate in prayer and silence the suffering and death of Christ.

Good Friday holds a special position in the church year and is considered one of the deepest and most silent days. The celebration in Mannheim was marked by inner reflection and prepared the faithful for the upcoming Resurrection of Christ.
