Exposition of the Shroud in the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helena

On April 10, in Cologne, in the Russian Orthodox Church of Saints Constantine and Helena, the Good Friday service was celebrated. This was reported by UOJ on Telegram.

On this holy and at the same time sorrowful day, numerous parishioners gathered for common prayer to spiritually experience one of the most tragic moments of the church year. Good Friday reminds the faithful of the crucifixion sufferings of our Lord Jesus Christ, of His torments and of the sacrifice He offered for the salvation of mankind.

During the service, the sufferings of Christ are commemorated with special reverence; the burial shroud is brought out – as a symbolic remembrance of the burial of the Savior.

The community of the Russian Orthodox Church gathered under the leadership of the acting parish rector, Father Viktor, in unanimous prayer and prepares for the greatest feast of the Orthodox world – the radiant Resurrection of Christ. Very little time remains until Easter, and for every believer this is a time of special spiritual concentration, repentance and preparation for the encounter with the risen Christ.

Previously, UOJ has reported on Good Friday.
