Sermon commemorating the 40 Martyrs of Sebaste published

In his sermon after the late Divine Liturgy on March 22, Priest Nikita spoke about the spiritual significance of Great Lent in connection with the commemoration of the 40 Martyrs of Sebaste and Saint John Climacus. The sermon was published on Telegram. The focus was on the path of repentance as an inner transformation of man. Using the image of the "Ladder," the priest explained that spiritual growth occurs gradually and is connected with personal effort, prayer, and God's grace. This path leads to overcoming passions and developing Christian virtues. Referring to the Gospel about the healing of the possessed boy, he emphasized the central role of faith. The cry "I believe, Lord, help my unbelief" illustrates human weakness and at the same time the necessity of turning to God with trust.

In conclusion, Priest Nikita emphasized that prayer and fasting are indispensable for spiritual warfare. They strengthen man on his path to God and open the possibility to grow in faith and deepen the connection to Christ.
