Armed men kidnapped ten believers during prayer in Nigeria

In Benue State, nine Catholic believers were kidnapped on February 6 during prayer at St. Paul Parish. According to church sources, armed attackers broke into the church while community members were participating in a nighttime prayer vigil and abducted those present. Nothing is known about the whereabouts of the kidnapped individuals so far. This was reported by Catholic Vote. The Diocese of Otukpo called on the faithful to pray for the quick and safe release of the victims. At the same time, local police announced the deployment of special units to conduct a search and rescue operation.

The incident is part of a series of increasing violence against Christians and church institutions in Nigeria. In various regions of the country, kidnappings, attacks, and massacres by extremist groups or criminal gangs occur repeatedly.
