Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors in Munich Celebrated Patronal Feast
In the Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Munich, the patronal feast of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia was solemnly celebrated. Numerous faithful participated in the festive Divine Liturgy, which was dedicated to the memory of those who suffered and lost their lives for their faith during the 20th-century church persecutions. This was reported by the ROCA Eparchy on Telegram. Metropolitan Mark and Bishop Hiob participated in the service. The center of the celebration was prayer for steadfastness in faith and remembrance of the witness of the New Martyrs. The sermon highlighted their faithfulness to Christ even under severe pressure and emphasized that their sacrifice represents a lasting spiritual foundation for church life.
After the Liturgy, the faithful gathered for common prayer before the icon of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia. The patronal feast emphasized the living connection of the community with the history of the Church and strengthened awareness of the spiritual heritage as well as the communal identity of the Russian Orthodox faithful in Munich.
Previously, UOJ reported that the Romanian Orthodox Community in Geretsried celebrated its patronal feast.
