Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts celebrated in London
On April 8, on Great Wednesday, the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was celebrated at the Cathedral of Saint Sava in London. The service is one of the central celebrations of Holy Week and serves as spiritual preparation for Easter. This was reported by the Eparchy of Britain and Ireland of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The Liturgy was presided over by Bishop Nektarije of London and Britain-Ireland. Bishop Andrej of Switzerland also participated in prayer. Concelebrating with them were Archpriest Dragan Lazić, Deacon Filip Milivojević, and Reader Stefan Lazović. The joint celebration emphasized the unity of the hierarchs and clergy within the Church.
The celebration gathered numerous faithful and was marked by prayer, reflection, and preparation for the approaching Resurrection of Christ. Particularly during Holy Week, this Liturgy is perceived as an opportunity for inner contemplation and spiritual renewal.
Previously, UOJ reported that the Great Oil Blessing was celebrated in two parishes in Cologne.
