Feast of the Presentation of the Lord celebrated in the Church of Saint Sava

On February 15, 2026, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, the Divine Liturgy was solemnly celebrated in the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade. The service was led by Bishop Stefan of Remesiana with the blessing of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije. Numerous faithful participated in the celebration and prayed together on this significant feast day of the church year. This was reported by Orthodox Times. In his sermon, Priest Miroslav Vasić explained that the Feast of the Presentation of Christ and the simultaneously observed Sunday of the Last Judgment point to a common spiritual truth: man is called to encounter God. Using the example of righteous Simeon, he emphasized that a pure heart is necessary to recognize Christ in one's own life as well as in one's neighbor, especially in those in need.

At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Stefan addressed the faithful with a greeting and congratulated them on the feast. At the same time, he invited them to pilgrimages to Moscow and to the local Podvorye of the Serbian Orthodox Church there, in order to strengthen the spiritual bond between the faithful. The celebration concluded with communal prayer and brotherly fellowship between clergy and congregation.
